The Queen of Peace Prayer Group
The Prayer Group’s mission is intercession.
Since the pandemic, this group mostly meets online (Zoom) on Monday evenings, 8pm. Joining codes from Jenny (below) or Deacon Brin. Once every few weeks, (see the Newsletter for dates – they are unavoidably irregular) we meet in the Upper Room on Monday evening – most recently on 21st August, (next on 11th Sept) .This “live” meeting is from 7:30pm till 9.30pm, when we finish with refreshments. The size of the group varies from week to week but has a core attendance of 12+.
We start with a session of sung praise and worship, usually accompanied by guitar and/or keyboard. This is followed by a brief scripture-based reflection given by one of the group leaders, to which others respond if they wish.
We then move into our time of intercessory prayer, when any of those present may voice needs or petitions. After this, the opportunity is offered for individuals to be prayed with, if they wish, for healing, or any other needs.
After a final song of praise we adjourn for refreshments and a chance to chat.
In Advent and Lent we have a special evening of slightly different format, consisting of readings, meditation and singing, to help us focus and prepare for these seasons.
