An Alpha course, taking place online via Zoom meetings, is currently happening on Monday evenings at 7:45 sign-in for an 8pm start. It began on Monday 1st March. As these courses are as much about the forming of friendships as about the provision of information, it is always best not to join them after they have begun, but you are welcome to register your interest to be contacted if we decide to run another later in the year.
The Alpha course is a series of informal evenings, designed as an introduction to the basics of the Christian faith in a way which allows for questions, discussions and a free exchange of views, in a welcoming and easy-going atmosphere.
It is something that any churchgoer can feel confident about inviting their relatives, colleagues and friends to attend. Existing Christians may find it useful to renew and deepen their faith.
Anyone interested, please contact Deacon Brin by phone or text to 07931 607249 or on email@example.com, for the Zoom codes or any other queries
The photo above is from one of our 2019 courses run as physical meetings in the Upper Room, with a meal each session, and a weekend-away Holy Spirit retreat in the country. We cannot do one of those again in the present circumstances, but the online version of Alpha has proved very successful. You don’t get a meal, but on the other hand, you don’t have to come out on a cold evening, and some people may have fewer difficulties with childcare arrangements ! Anyone with a decent internet connection can join in from anywhere.
