Alpha at St Augustine's

An Alpha course ran on Wednesday evenings, 7-9 ;15pm, at St Augustine's , starting on 6th January, and ending 10th April..  The banner pictured above, on Amersham Hill, is used to raise awareness of the course among passers-by.  A second course began on 11th Sept, and has just finished, on 20th Nov.

The Spring course was very successful, by the goodness of God, with around thirty people attending regularly, nineteen of whom went on a very beautiful Cotswolds weekend-away,  where the Holy Spirit poured out blessings in a wonderful way.  The autumn course attracted only slightly fewer people (though a proportion were "second-timers"), and this time  the away-weekend, with sixteen taking part, was at a more local retreat venue on 18th-20th October. - the Lord granted us another weekend of powerful blessings. If you are not coming regularly to our church, but wish to be kept informed of opportunities to book in for the next course, please send in your e-mail and name to staugustines.alpha@hotmail.com..  And for anyone thinking of taking part, please try to keep free the weekend dates as soon as they are notified ! It is an important and highly valuable part of the whole course.

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone's welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, prisons,  homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a video talk and good conversation.  For more information and taster clips, try https://alpha.org/about
